Giving Thanks Begins And Ends My Day

Updated on November 23, 2016

A Great Reminder Is Thanksgiving

Where we all can take the time

To celebrate in our own special way

The amazing life we celebrate

I know how blessed I am

To have you in my life

Each day that goes by

I feel enormous pleasure

To all the people who have touched my soul

Have a Happy Thanksgiving

Wherever you are and know matter you go

Your love grows stronger

With more years behind me than ahead of me

I do cherish every moment

For I have seen how we all follow the circle of life

From the time we are born to the time we die

All I see is great opportunities

As I do my small part

What makes the world

A place so beautiful

Where we all can live as one great people

We can create anything we dream

We can start by forgiving ourselves for our own faults

Then learn to forgive others for their mistakes

Offer to help instead of hurt

Give instead of take

Listen instead of talk

Work together instead of pull apart

Who said Thanksgiving comes only once a year ?

For me it's the start of every day

I start with Thanks

Then I find a new way of Giving

I am already one hour in

Twenty three hours left

I tend to repeat myself year after year

Not so bad when I still feel the same way

What a wonderful feeling

Starts at my toes or is it my nose

Runs down my spine or is it up my legs and arms

Creates new passions or is it desires

I stop to pinch myself

To check for sure

Is this real

I may not know many things

The one thing I do know

I can talk to as long as Tom the turkey takes to cook

Things are a lot different now then when I was a kid

Times have changed

So I have to learn a new way or still hold onto tradition

I don't know if I have the right gender or proper name

Maybe it's a Tabitha or Thomas

It could even be Tom-Emilia

Then some things can stay the same

Have a beautiful day

Any way you slice it

Michael-Milec It's who we are deep inside. I believe we have so much to appreciate and unfortunately people are distracted by the unhappy things that happen and forget what is really important. When I see another person smile I wonder what made that person happy at that moment and then I want to figure out a way to bring back that joy as often as I can. I know if one person can be happy so can other people and that is a cycle I love to continue. Thank you for your kind words and your view have a great day.

Uplifting and encouraging a soul strengthening especially in taking time to be grateful at the beginning and the end , as well as in between all our actions activities. Thanksgiving is thus good to be celebrated by a grateful heart everyday.

Gypsy Rose Lee You can still have a turkey and all the fixings. How does Latvia celebrate their holidays? You could incorporate both and make it your own personal celebration. Thank you for reading and sharing.

Thankfulness with a touch of humor. Good for you. This time last year, I had to work and then found myself trapped in a flash flood on the way home. That terrifying ordeal seems like years ago and not merely a year. It's strange how so many things can change in just a year's time. Some things happening in life now I would never have imagined in my wildest dreams. But I must always be thankful and appreciative for all of the good things that come from all of life's twists and turns. And this year, I'm thankful to be home not doing a thing other than cooking. Happy Thanksgiving, Michael!
