God Cried That Day

Updated on February 26, 2012

It was insane,

he shook his head

as if to rattle his brain,

he was sweating

like a jungle rain,

he struggled between

his responsibility as a father

and a husband,

he sensed the fear

in the horror involved here,

a terminally sick child’s life,

taken by the hands of his wife,

he nearly choked,

there was no compassion,

as he saw it,

she fell to her knees to pray,

he sadly turned and walked away,

only a ghost would stay,

and God cried that day.

      Hi Frank,

I am not condoning the mother's behaviour but I can only imagine the mental state she was in to murder her terminally ill child. I consider this a mercy killing. I don't see her as a cold blooded murder.

      Voted up and awesome.

It's murder and it's one of his children. A magnificent piece here Brethren Frank, just a little that says a whole lot. I could feel the power you felt when you wrote: Just a ghost would stay and God cried that day.

      This is clearly on track!

      Bless brethren.

Such a powerful piece. You manage to convey so much in so few words. I feel for them all. No mother wants her child to suffer when there was no hope, she would have already been grieving. 3 lives died that day
