Goddess Of Wonder
Warmth and Wonder
Ode To You of Light
I can hear it now, just as you said it was…
The twinkling whispers of the wind in tall grass,
As you search for me, where I lay gazing up to endless stars.
Lying on a blanket of meadow and daisies,
So different from the cold abyss I have known.
I can hear you now, as you were meant to be heard…
Your voice dancing to me through the twilight.
I can see it now, just as you said it was…
The moon adorned in silver tassels framed by a languid deep-violet sky,
Billows of pink blossoms ensconcing braches, weaving gracefully upward.
Nearly forgotten are the long hours and weeks spent battling the darkness,
As my fingers and feet betrayed me, willing me to slip back down,
And that sad amazement of yours, as you poured your soul into me
And I looked on, unmoved.
I truly feel it now, and it is just as you said it was…
Glowing and shimmering across my bare skin, evoking warmth from hours before.
I feel each step that brings you closer, now that I am on equal ground,
Each breath that slides down my raven hair, now that I am close enough to touch.
I remember how only your voice could reach me, implore me…
How long I have been held behind that veil of ghostly desolation,
Unhindered I now am, from chains of shadows and despair.
I set eyes on you now, as though the first time, and you are GLORIOUS.
You of light and warmth and peace, you of earth and breath and fire.
You let me see, hear and feel as though newborn and amazed,
This new beauty astounds me, unfurling before me like incandescent banners.
Now I am Goddess of Old and New, of Height and Depth, of Light and Shadow.
For I have lived through deepest night, and with the daylight have conquered.
Now I rule, Goddess esteeming illumination and love, living in wonder.
