God's Metaphor

It"s taken all my life to see
the beauty of life's mystery...
To look beyond horizon's shore,
discovering life's metaphor.

Its taken all my life to be
the woman God intended me.
To look beyond my given worth,
find the reason for my birth.

Its taken all my life to find
the purpose for which i was designed...
To look beyond the mountains crest
find my Grail of Sacred Quest.

Its taken all my life to share
dreams I did not know were there....
To look beyond my prison gate,
sing the tune composed by Fate.

Its taken all my life to know
that Nature is God's grand tableau...
To look beyond mere circumstance,
feel the call of God's Romance.

Its taken all my life to hear
the voice of God that whispers near...
To look beyond what eye can see,
embrace the source of God in me.

It"s taken all my life to see
the beauty of God's mystery...
To look beyond horizon's shore,
to see that I'm God's metaphor.

      Hi Tender,

What a beautiful poem and I can relate to the message.

I can now feel why I'm here and that doesn't make me forget the grief for loved ones and some othe pretty emotional memories but it eases slightly that I am on the right road.

My inner being tells me this and it's never let me down so far.

Thank you so much Tender for sharing this beautiful poem.

It's not just publishing our own work that makes HP the great place that it is. Oh no it's being able to read and connect to brilliant work such as this.

      Take care,

      Eiddwen.

Will, thank you, this one wrote itself, as many of my recent works have...I feel guilty taking credit for God's writes! His words flow from my pen...speak His message to my heart and the hearts that are open to the message...I am so honored, and so very blessed, and thrilled to my quill that you relate!

Eiddwen, I feel a spiritual connection with you, here. It has been a long, arduous journey to reach this epiphany..."great is the joy of the rescued" I have heard it said, and I so relate to that...It is with honor that I share with you the journey! Blessings!

You're lucky to have poetry to convey your thoughts and emotions -- and we're lucky too; it makes for some great reading. This one had the feel of a journey taking place right before our eyes. Well done as always. Cheers.

Tndr- It is a hard accomplishment, to "forgive ourselves for what we MIGHT have been, and accept who we ARE". -Paul

Paul, the truth of it is, I could not forgive myself for who I was, who I wasn't, who I became, who I didn't...my heart was touched by the very Hand of God, in His infinite Mercy...that alone is where self-forgiveness, self discovery, and self-acceptance began, a mere few months ago, in my 57th year of life. It is much easier to forgive someone else...I am grateful for your read and comment! Blessings to you!

What beautiful words and images but, above all, I applaud the profound insight of the poem - thank you. I came across your poem as I searched to see what others had done with metaphor in the way of Hubs after writing two Hubs using the notion of metaphor as a way of coming to some understanding of the the idea of God, The Temptations of Christ as Metaphor and Love Thy Neighbor: We are all Khaled Said, that I think come to something of a kindred understanding. Again, thank you for a Hub that shines in all respects.
