Golden Sunrise and a Golden Sunset

Updated on December 22, 2014

They stand there,

Golden, and glowing in the sunrise.

Opened up for people and traffic,

Passing through the glowing gates, you can’t summarise!

Sunset falls around us,

But still the gates stand golden and bold!

Lights sparkle everywhere,

The moonlight and the golden, glowing memories I’ll hold.

Thank you for stopping by Melchius and for leaving such a lovely comment. I hadn't thought about that line no, but I think it is great, I shall edit it now! ;)

The second picture was a nightmare to take, driving along trying to keep up with the traffic, and keep a steady hand at the same time! Fortunately I was the passenger. x

Nice poem. I like the alliteration. Did you think of starting the poem with 'They stand there" rather than 'The Gates stand there" ? This intrigues the reader a bit more and has them thinking and questioning right from the start. Just a thought. Beautiful images as well.
