Gone

I wish I could tell you

All the things I never said

How I really felt

That I needed you

That I wasn’t strong enough

To do this on my own

In my mind

I see you at the door

I reach for your hand

Please stay

But the fact remains

You’ve moved on

Built a life of your own

Because in the end

That’s what grown-ups do

Hello, Alyssa. This is a very simple poem that says a lot. Good work.
