Still Here

Updated on May 26, 2015

Still Here

A laugh, a smile

a playful shove.

We stand together

a half circle of love.

Still just girls

lost in time and space,

here the clock stops,

pauses and replays.

Back to pink bicycles

glitter and boys.

To ninja turtles,

hide and seek

and all those silly ploys.

Here we stand now

wine in our hands,

still laughing

still scheming

still loving

those same stupid boys.

The poets on Hp are such a talented and eclectic group of writers. brownella, your Still Here is unique in what it says and I like the style much more than a little. Do look forward to more from you.:)

Very nice poem & good illustration too. Reminds me of a book of poetry by a friend of mine here, called Photograph With Girls.

      Up!

Every time my sisters and I get together I realize how little we really have changed. Thanks for the feedback (sorry for the delayed response).

Short and sweet. Childhood - life was so simple then. Cute ending! Good job!

The Norman Rockwell picture is what brought it out, I have four sisters so it brought back a lot of sweet (and funny) memories. Thanks again for reading :-)
