Gone Are Those Moments (tanka)

Updated on January 29, 2015

I use to go here

Gone are those kisses

Those moments shared with our straws

Somebody’s laughing

In worlds then so far away

The day the movie house closed

I adore this, its beautiful...simplistic, to the point clear concise

Describing your times there took me into that world.

Although short, so much change and time packed into the poem, poignant and passing on a bigger message. Voted up!

The actors' names written on that movie house are Filipinos. What part of the Philippines was the photo taken from? Just curious...:)

      Voted up and Interesting!

Fleeting are the moments and only our memory is allowed to hold onto them. In a most literal sense I remember the movie houses where the kisses were shared...a lovely time.

Angels are on the way to you this morning :) ps

Rather sad and seems to be describing more and more events, locations and treasures of the past.

It is always sad when we lose a place we loved to hang out in. Beautifully written...

I always find it so sad when buildings that mean a lot to me are destroyed. It's hard to grab hold of the past. Thanks for the sad but lovely poem, Martin.

It's not easy to let go of the past, but to revisit can be so disappointing. It's best to remember the good times enjoyed there and move on. Thanks for the poem.

Such classics are places like this. The drive-ins and all of those other classics of yesterday. Damn progress!
