Gone Is The Cloud (poem)

Updated on April 7, 2015

Gone is the cloud which danced through the sky

The warm welcome ear

That long lasting smile

Gone is the water’s refreshing reply

Of things which could be

From now forgotten

Gone is the meaning wandering why

It happened at all

And don’t look around

Who knows the wind which make a dream fly

A blind eye to chance

A frolicking heart

And wonders once felt truth can’t deny

The lingering doubts

Safety of others

And not a single tear did they cry

It didn’t seem right

As they looked around

No further effort was made to try

There’s somebody else

But what was the name

Did it even say a last goodbye

One last memory

Till we meet again

Lovely photo and another good poem from you, no one misses anything in life unless it is gone.

Beautiful and sad Martin; we don't know something will become a cherished memory until after it's already gone... nothing wrong with holding on.

So beautifully written. You certainly have a way with words and of painting a picture with an economical sweep of the brush.

Martin, for me this is about the plane and the souls it carries; the cloud which danced through the sky.....or a memory from the past....either way it is beautifully done, evocative with a touch of sadness and regret.

This poem brought to mind our fallen soldiers. I'm not sure whether or not that was your intent, but I find this comforting if that is the case.

Beautifully sad of life's temporary existence, that is on this planet.

Wow, Google actually place a great ad!

      Great music.

A sad, but well written poem.I liked the Satriani vid;my favourite track by him.One of the top guitarists in the world;I think he taught Steve Vai how to play.A great talent.Thank you.

You're taking me to a place I don't want to go again. It's hard to let go of the good things, but when we have no choice we have to move on.
