"Good People" Are Hard To Find...

Updated on November 12, 2015

This small Poem is based on the idea and premise of the movie: "Billy Jack" and the title song to it: "One Tin Soldier". This Poem was written many years ago. However, recently I re-visited it, and gave it a few extra tweaks to go along with the many truths found inside the Poem. Not because of anything I would "poem"-atically write about...but because of the message inside the Poem for us all to get along...which was displayed through out the movie: "Billy Jack" (Done in 1971...with many stereotypes of the time). I, personally, have always enjoyed this movie...and the theme behind it. (And, especially liked how one man was able to persevere through all the tragedy and craziness.)

For more about "Good People" rising up in the land...Please read my Poem below.

This Small "Manly" Poem is Dedicated to: Tom Laughlin: 1931 - 2013, and his spouse: Delores Taylor: 1932 to Present

Poem Idea Originates from the Title Song and the Movie: "Billy Jack" (1971)

Where have all the “Good People” gone?

"Good People" are hard to find...

They’ll do anything for you…and they won’t mind.

"Good People"…I used to try hard to be one...

Now forget it…I’m tired to try to be one…I’m done.

You used to find more "Good People"...when you looked around...

But everywhere I look...I see..."Good People" are hard to be found.

Calling all "Good People" on this planet…who have been good to us all...

We need more "Good People" to help pick us up when we fall.

Better yet…"Good People"…get away from us…You’re not deserving;

Go…help yourself for a change…We’re not worth preserving.

"Oh, Good People…why is there such a distinction between us?

It’s because we know in the end run…It is only you we can trust."

The Good People all left, and went away...

Far from the Bad People…that had gone astray.

They formed there own civilization, and their own tribe;

To preserve the “Good People” way of life.

But, we came after them…because that’s what we do...

And you couldn't find one "Good Person" left…when we were through.

Calling all "Good People"…Please, gather around…Yet, it all gets quiet...

No "Good People" here…these people here are about to start a riot!

Why do the wicked ones...always seem to prevail?

Why do they always put "Good People"...through such travail?

When will the next “Good People” rise up once again?

When will they stop trying to be the Bad Peoples' friend?

"Good People"…Who have risen up once again in the land...

It’s your turn to live …Get away from Bad People as fast as you can!

The Bad People will use you only for their own amusement;

Then, they will continue their ways…and never repent...

For every effort that you try to make good...

Will not be noticed by Bad People...like it should.

When has "Bad" become good...and "Good" become bad...

What has happened to "Good People"...it's kind'a sad.

Bad People...always seem to get their way...

And leave the Good People with a tab to pay...

But the Good People will press on....though they are beaten down...

Thank God for the "Good People"...Hope they continue to stick around!

Calling all "Good People"... Are there any more "Good People" out there?
