Gossip: The Poison Tarot

Updated on March 3, 2011
Source

A Poisoning Tarot

Gossip is quite easily
a natural spilling flow
of polluted waters,
a poisoning tarot...
It is a toxic arrow
from a bow of tongue,
whose juicy little tidbits
can never be unsung.
Gossip is delightful,
such fun for those who tell...
a most addictive potion
dipped from tainted well.
Character assassins
are gossips, one and all,
who kill by drops of malice
from their bitter cup of gall.
Gossip leaves within its wake
its victims unaware...
quick to paralyze them,
their reputations to impair.
Yet, it is a past time
too many can't resist...
Those who are participants
seek ever to enlist.
Gossip is quite naturally
an easy spilling flow
of polluted waters,
a poisoning tarot...

      Another nice empathetic endeavor No_.

It all seems rather sad, that so many besiege us with lives quite so bare.

Perhaps a nice hobby is all that they dare...

Careless whispers delivered via poison darts, casual comments that undermine and destroy...something seemingly so innoculous is insidious in it's damage that sooner or later, hopefully, comes back to bite the perp in the ass, eventually. Karma is a vindictive bitch.

It is a harmful, dangerous, biting, ugly practice of the envious, jealous, and mean spirited to demoralize and potentially destroy it's victims.

Stirring piece that effects everyone...victims and those that commit this societal crime. Eloquently stated...where I hope that the gossips recognize themselves and their victims find peace.

bbnix...I tend to think this "nice hobby" serves to make gossipers feel better about themselves at the expense of their subjects...a sad thing, indeed...my goal with this one was to make folks aware...most especially if they participate in this cruel sport, of the pain and destruction their words cause...and make them think before they play their games! Thank you, as always, for your insightful and sensitive response...I can always count on you, my friend!

Gossip is the surest way to attract disaster not just to the ones who deliver it but to those who listen to it. Very few people make the connection the way you do here. Thank you.

Fossillady, we have all been guilty at one time or another...but it would be a better world without gossip for sure!

Spirit, you are so right! I worked on an assembly line for years with folks who thrived on gossip, both telling and hearing it...it is so destructive! Thanks for your read and comment!

attemptedhumour, thank you for your read and comment! I do appreciate you!

Gossip is the poison of those that stand in the high depths of their own insecurities. It's simply mind poisioning to others who enjoy it. It's the cup of tea when it comes to those who carry high frequency of jealousy... or plain boredom.

      Absolutely love it!
