Greed From Your Mind

Updated on September 20, 2011

You can eat the world
And save us a few
It doesn’t hurt us as much
More than greed hurt you…

When things you want can’t get to you
Your whole world declare a war
Inside you are burning
And bomb bursting in air

Your weakening soul start to cry
And you scribble the sky about all your pain
The world can see and the world can hear
But the world can’t do anything to help you heal

You can shed millions of tears
If that’s any better but do remember
You can’t escape pain
If you haven’t extinct your geed

Greed come from your mind
Like the mind of a demon
The living demon is not anyone else but you

It’s not invisible, anyone can see
It’s quite obvious
Since you paint an image of your greed

Pain is a real crime
It murder you inside
But if you continue to let it do
Then your not missing anything more than the wonderful things surround you
In life

I see...I've never knew that American Government created Al Qaeda, lol...I should really look into history. It's a great resource to learn. Thank you.

Our wars have never been about anything other then stimulating our economy. We once were a country that manufactured everything. War only improved the quantity of what we manufactured. Now we outsource all of our manufacturing and when we make war it does not help our economy it hurts it because we pay other countries to manufacture our weapons. Look through history to see what I am talking about. We have always had war... even just little wars. And you are right ... we are only destroying ourselves. I wonder how many people know that the American Government created Al Qaeda? We did... We armed them and trained them to fight the Russians when Russia was trying to take over Afghanistan. We the people need to look carefully at what we have created. Our greed and consumerism created the Middle East by demanding oil and making these countries rich enough that they can buy weapons, etc. There is a lot to consider.

Thank you Daven, I too love your poetry as well. You are right about every little words you have expressed in detail. I wish that war was not an answer to solve a problem. It's not going to make our nation any better, instead we're wasting lots of money on weapons and many more invaluable stuff. Instead of wasting money on war to solve a problem, we should use it for something much better like educating younger generation and jobs. I don't think U.S is going to war on Iraq because of the 9/11 or weapon. I think its oil. I also think we have enough than what is needed but why more? America is not destroying anyone else but itself. This is what I see, maybe I am wrong because I have low education in politics but analyzing what I see on the news daily, America need to clean itself up before cleaning up other country.

Chanroth: I always love your poetry because it makes me think with both my mind and my heart. There is a war going in in the US and its been going on for a long time. It is the war between religion/politics and freedom. There is also as you say... the war within ourselves... addiction is a rampant disease within America as are many other social issues. It is ourselves that we sometimes must battle. Sometimes we win and sometimes we continue the struggle.

Hi daven, your poetry are wonderful! You are totally right about every written words in your poetry. @Vinaya, yes, we also have war inside us as well. The war that is inside us, is a big pain in the butt and only one person can defeat it and that is self. Thank you! :)

Perhaps we all face a war inside us, that is bigger than the war of the worlds.

I think about the words your pose

      down broken, winding, unpaved roads

I think about the vision as ants

our voices lost among their rants

The laws diminished by their actions

      progress stalled by smaller factions

the wheels of time, they keep turning

time is ticking, time is burning

      and still they accomplish nil

a nation of might is standing still

spend the money we pay as tax

ignore the cause, ignore the fact

that as they argue over crumbs

the music fades with the drums

an anthem of the star spangle banners

      dims beneath ill fated manners

They lead us not into temptation

      with out cause or hesitation

they lead us not to anywhere

but down the long dark road despair

      mothers, fathers, sons and daughter

hungry minds and with empty fodder

      and rent is coming due.....

      One nation was America

      Under God we trust

      Now nation turn to citation

      Our trust turn to crust

      They fuss over trust

      They complain who to blame…

      But we the little one

      Get torn by their mistake

      They are the ‘king’ …

      But we’re just little ants

      Who follow their leads

And get step on by their feet

      Laws written in words

      Constitution written in forms

      And we are to follow…

      Not they

Crimes and pain you have explain

Was quite amazing but yet we’re not to blame

It’s their law that we must shamed

      Because court justice are insane

      well spoken angel of reason

      of outspoken, anger and treason

      the things we acquire

      without thought or desire

      the impact of lust

      for thing is a must

      in Americas heart

      the broken end part

      that once was a nation

      which is now a citation

      of crimes and of pain

      over and over again

      with out a lit spark

      like words in the dark

the prophesy fell on deaf ears.
