Stop and think back when you were a kid, why did adults keep asking you stupid questions like, "When you grow-up what are going to be?"
Well being a rough and tough tom-boy, no dolls for me! In fact a dress was something that hung in the closet. Jeans and tee-shirts are still my attire today. So when asked this important question which would change from week to week I most likely would answer, "I'm going to barrel race in the rodeo's." My Cajun father broke and rode horses at the rodeo's so it was a natural response.
Of course these people that were asking this stupid question would sadly shake their head and say "Oh why don't you want to be a nurse or a doctor." of course in those days a girl did not have many choices.
Today's children are still being ask the same question and probably none of them are choosing barre-racing. Yet they have more choices put at there finger tips to choose from. Maybe their parents are able to motivate them in the direction of a doctor, lawyer or following a more professional field.
Yet, after working 42 years in industry in different fields, why do I continually hear people that are now retired complain that they had hated their JOBS and wished that they had tried other avenues.
My friends I am here today to say---Yes we all will grow old but we do not have to GROW-UP. Okay maybe it is time to be that kid again and show those silly adults what you REALLY want to do?
No! I do not barrel race in a rodeo ---but it is a GREAT RIDE.
Of course you can always travel to all those fantastic places you dreamed about but as you can see I can only go FORTH-CLASS.
AS i HAVE SAID BEFORE: (A DAY WITH OUT LAUGHTER IS A DAY WASTED SO NEVER GROW-UP)
