Guilty as Charged

Updated on September 24, 2016

Guilty as Charged

If you said I must be surrounded by insanity

I think I'd say guilty as charged, I must be!

Oh, but who's to say, maybe I'm just a little crazy too

You would be if you had so many twists and turns to navigate through

Dizzy, dizzy, spinning, spinning, round and round you go

Where it is you'll come out God only knows

Up and down, turnabout, back track just a little please

Otherwise there's no way that you'll come through this with ease

Just when you think you've got it all figured out

Some other crazy seed starts to sprout

Look for me in that padded room

It won't be long - you might find me there soon!

They're Coming to Take Me Away

Perhaps I'm already there, Sweet shanmarie. Ha ha. Or maybe they're coming to take me away. Seriously not so far-fetched for some of us.

      Nice Hub, funny video!

I'm already there, in the padded room. Come join me!

Okay, Sunshine! Sounds like fun to me! "And I'll be happy to see those nice young men in their clean white coats!"

Hmmmmm. Can't imagine what inspired this particular poem. It's good to know they allow you a computer in that padded room!! LOL Paula

LOL! Paula, you know damn well what inspired this particular poem! Shhhhhhhh. . .I'm not there yet. They might think my computer is a danger to myself. And they'd probably be right. Because then I'd learn things I didn't want to know! I'm tellin' ya, I'm THIS CLOSE TO BAT SHIT CRAZY! And I wonder if there are actually bat shit lunatics calling all the shots right now. I always say there's a difference between being patient and having patience. I've about lost mine. I don't like waiting around. Either do something or don't. All other avenues are exhausted at this point. Commit to what needs to be done and do it or back off and leave me out of it entirely!

Hey, I'm gonna put in a special request to have you as my therapist when they lock me away. Bahahahahahahah

Hi, Ruby. Maybe they'll just put us all in the same room! Maybe. . .if we promise not to hurt each other or ourselves.

We'll be in straight jackets so we can't hurt each other....

Good point! Then I'm totally good with that. I mean, the room is padded - so no need for helmets, right? Or lobotomies.

Suddenly I'm thinking of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. . .

My aunt went off the deep end two or three years ago and every few months is hospitalized for being a threat to herself and others. There's a thin line between sanity and insanity.

Well, Flourish, that's a sobering thought because it's actually so very true.

I love this poem! Don't we all feel this way at times. And, I think there are more people out there ready for the padded room than we think. I am probably on my way there myself. The world is insane that's for sure.

Hi, Suzette. I'm glad you love it. Thanks. The world is indeed a crazy place. And sometimes crazy is a lot closer than we think to our own realities.

So. . .I guess I'll be seeing you at the padded party!

Wow! This is much funny and at the same time seriously realistic, Shan! Maybe all of us find some place in those corners reserved for us! Though scary to think of. But, I don't wish for it for any of us.

Hi, Venkatachari. Thanks for stopping by. The good thing about laughing is that it even makes the crazy better, doesn't it?

Hahaha ...I'm afraid I'm not too far behind you, Shan, after this whacky week! I guess they don't allow us to share a padded room?

How do you do that, Theresa? I was just thinking of you and then here you are on my page!

Oh, no. I'm having a party! We'll do what we want One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest style if we have to. We'll all be in the same room at least for a while and we'll have a revolution! LOL

Maybe crazies are on the same wavelength LOL ...

I remember that song from long ago. Sometimes I think it would be nice to just sit and look at the trees. Hahaha.

Oops, here they come for me!

    • shanmarie profile image

Maybe so, but if you're part of the company, it's a good wavelength to be on! I used to like that song when I was a kid. I used to quote it whenever someone would call me crazy for my silliness. Hahaha. So it immediately came to mind when I sat down to write this piece. This has indeed been a crazy past couple of weeks. They actually seem more like months to me the way they've been dragging on with twists and turns and if I shared the story no one would believe me, I think. It's like a bad television drama, or a good one, depending on how you look at it.

What's up? Nothing new in two weeks from you. I need my Shannon fix. Talent like yours should not be allowed to be dormant....just sayin'

Aww, thanks. It's nice to know I have a fan. LOL. I am working on something very personal as we speak. It's meant as a gift for someone, but hopefully my humor will show as well for those reading and perhaps it might be somewhat inspirational too. I'm doing everything by phone, though, so it might take a few days to actually post here.
