H.O.W. Maybe A Time Of Contemplation.

Updated on February 18, 2013

This hub I am dedicating to fellow writer and friend Bill Holland who writes under billybuc.

I was so touched by his hub http://billybuc.hubpages.com/hub/Blessed-Are-Those-Who-Hunger-and-Thirst-For-Righteousness

and this is what inspired me to create and publish this hub this morning.

Source

The night's spent

under her cardboard roof

concealed by the thorns

of a gorse covered bush.

The stabbing prickles not felt;

too much pain

too much heartache

to register!!

A tattered bag

carrying

the whole contents

of the life

of this poor angel;

an angel

who was once the

epitome

in her

golden and

talented world.

A life of beauty

and

laughter;

but oh so sadly

laughter to cover

to camouflage

so much pain

so much

wrongly placed

shame.

She groggily sleeps under the moon

which magnifies

the stagnant stench

of the waste ground.

Oh why??

Oh When??

Oh how??

Source

She heard each guttural tone

footsteps seeming nearer

some disappearing!!

A derisive laugh

a sharp-felt kick

from the foot of one

who does not know

does not understand

that she is human.

There are those passers by

dripping in heavy gold jewellery;

their fur coats mocking and plush ;

Their material needs paramount !!!

Their distaste as they catch a glimpse

is dripping in cruel disgust!!

Showing in their faces and their stance.

Persons so shallow

blood running cold

any compassion discarded

cast away into the dreaded

cold realms of oblivion !!!

They do not want to understand

that this person has a heart .

Please do not scorn

as under this heavy

and

tragic camouflage

is a person;

a songbird

fallen on

a broken wing.

The finale of a life

immersed in a corrosive

and all consuming darkness.

But still the same heart beats

loud and clear

still that person so dear!!

Oh why??

Oh when??

Oh how???

Source

Each day spent

busking for a few measly cold coins .

Not enough to sustain

but enough to painfully crawl

through each

pain muffled day.

Here you see a person

who outwardly to her people

from days gone by

would be beyond recognition!!

Much of that golden talent hidden

except for

the magical

golden

tones from her recorder.

Sweet notes

rising and seeped in beauty;

dancing like magical fairies

as each awesome tune doth mingle

with the beautiful hues of a sun filled sky.

Bad memories

still linger

and the truth ;

the cruelty

from days gone by thwarted;

the agony a little more blunt

but still apparent

still felt

still haunting.

The sinister

shadows of darkness

have kidnapped

her mind;

have broken her heart

have wounded her spirit!!

Do not ridicule

do not inflict even greater pain

to those senses

somewhat muffled

by soulful barriers;

Barriers

to coccoon

the hurt and battered soul.

Please remember

I beg of you!!

Please understand

that this person has a heart

that beats just like yours.

A person so wondrous

a person so dear

a person so loved!!!

Oh why??

Oh When??

Oh how??

A little old lady advances

kindness and compassion

so clearly showing in her face.

She stops by

and in

a soft kind voice

is heard to say

"I have no money my sweet angel but you can have half of my loaf!"

She breaks away more than half and hands it to the fallen angel.

The angels' face is transformed as her warm smile breaks through!!

It is as if heaven's orchestra was playing their most haunting yet beautiful melody!!

Oh yes there is still love there is still care !!!

The little old lady crouches and sits close to our angel telling her in a sweet voice

"I see you have fallen my dear sweet angel

I can see how you suffer with pain

A pain so sharp a pain so red

But will be for others to gain!!"

"Throughout your own suffering you have shown kindness to others who have also fallen !" "Bless your kind caring heart and your giving spirit!!"

The lady then turns to the passers by;

" Go on your way

Spend your wealth

You may mock

While you have your health!!"

"But what will happen

In your tomorrow?!!!"

"Can you guarantee

A life free of sorrow ?!!"

Many walked away with the grace to look ashamed and others threw a few more coins into the hat.

Nightfall came and as the little old lady snuggled down into her bed a dream came to her!!

She was surrounded by beautiful music, a blossom filled arch and a wondrous light.

She then saw the fallen angel of earlier in the day walk through the arch and lifted her hand in a wave as she whispered the words "Thank You" .

In her dream the angel was now so beautiful and sang the words to "Ave Maria" as she peacefully and happily entered her promised land .Never again to suffer ;never again to feel pain.

Early the next morning the little old lady walked to the doorway where she had seen her fallen angel the day before.

There was no one there ;but in the corner was a recorder and the little old lady picked it up and put it to her lips .

She had never played the recorder, but did not stop to question the need to do so now. Slowly but surely she played the notes to the beautiful "Ave Maria."

She looked up to the heavens and whispered "Rest in peace my sweet sweet angel!"

She carefully places the recorder in her bag and goes on her way knowing that it will not be long before she will be called upon to save another fallen angel.

      i cannot STAND it, Eddy! i cannot stand to think of people - human beings - suffering as you describe.. i force myself to read (and write) things such as this because - WE NEED TO SQUIRM! we need to SEE the ugly, the wrong, and the unjust!

      Sadly, me thinks that only those who already care are the ones reading - or writing...

      hopefully - i am wrong - and if only one persons eyes are opened - what an amazing thing!

      Bravo my friend - this was simply perfect - in a very bad way!

      up and sharing...
