Lord, give me strength and courage

I need to face each day you give me

Open my arms so that I can receive

A needy being of any age

Make me conscious of my neighbor

That my actions won’t impede their dreams

Take away jealousy and hatred I harbor

Make my efforts flow like the streams

Dear Lord protect me over evil

Restrain my lips for parting evil words

Let me abide by everything legal

I know you are the ruler over this world.

I feel I could have written it better than this.

There are times when I find myself saying these same things. I like this poem.
