Haiku, After the storm

Updated on January 22, 2012

I am a writer of poetry and fiction. I especially love flash fiction. My name is Ruby, and I live in Southern Illinois. I am a retired R.N.

Behind a hazy view

On a cloudy day

Sunshine waiting patiently

Behind hazy view

*********************************

Overcast shadow

Thunder rumbling overhead

Precipitation

**************************************

Clouds separating

Sunshine peeking discreetly

Delightful surprise!

Oh, Ruby-I loved this haiku...Delightful surprise!

I also enjoyed the music. It has special meaning for me...I remember it coming out at a time when I was very confused and depressed. I really took it as a sign and it helped me to 'get over it'. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Mck, It's so ironic, after writing this, we had a storm and tornado warnings. Remembering the last tornado, i was terrified. After it passed through, the air was so calm and clean..Thank you..I love your comment..Cheers my friend..

A lovely haiku, Ruby, and the perfect video/song to accompany it. Why do I feel as if that tune is familiar? I know I've heard it before. Oh, yes, from my Funny Pun - Number Seven." It works here, too, m'dear.

These Haiku are lovely. It is surpisingly difficult to restrict oneself to the syllable count - but I like the way it makes you really condense your thoughts into just a few words. I wrote one the other day after viewing the lovely animation that goes with Emeliana Torrini's 'Sunny Road': Wolf follows quietly / River gushes hopefully / Joy in this parting. Beautiful hub! Voted up!
