Salute to Summer ( a poem of inspiring moments from memories past)
Shadows cast by the light of the moon...spread about the wide landscape's scenery,
Night birds call...an answer to it all...a likened spell, cast by the time, in its reverie.
Sweet scent of Jasmine...Magnolias bloom...cool breezes delight and all to amuse,
Is Summer...enchanting Summer...memories flooding back, as sung in Blues.
Sweetest serenade...the Loon has ever made...down by the pond, its swaying reeds,
Music to enthrall, the greatest and the small...audience of turtles and frogs, it proceeds.
Wild geese on the fly...all to hurry by, their message, a background soliloquy of gold,
Distant lightnings flash...time for me to dash, as I put this marvelous scene, on hold.
Now in dreams I share...my special visions there...hold on to precious moments, all fair,
Forever they remain...inside my mind so plain...at my beck and call, each so rare.
Summer...beloved Summer...days and nights of such warmth... and me, so light of heart,
The special time, sublime...beauty with no rhyme...forever in my memories, to be a part.
