Haiti's Anguish

Updated on February 2, 2010

Anguish lies in the rubble

the pain of lives cut short,

memories of times now passed

and horrors yet to come.

Open wounds

filled with searing pain,

a nation brought to ground

cries of desolation ringing

throughout the lonely night.

Loss of loved ones

ache of uncertainty,

lives still lost, in the rubble

will they ever be found?

Graves filled with those unnumbered

names forever lost

tears cried for unknown throngs

will this darkness ever pass?

Sad and haunting poem. Very nice. It says it all.
