Half Way House: The Explanations of a Man Who Cannot Complete Chores

Updated on February 17, 2012

Fry me half an egg,

Bring half a toast.

With half the ham and cheese.

Pour half the water down the drain,

Serve the other half will you please?

Put half the lights

On half the tree.

Pop the corn halfway.

Set the clock to 12 noon.

Today we'll have half day.

Iron half the pants

And half my shirt.

Give each kid half their snacks.

Get half the dogs

In half the bath,

And wash only half their backs.

Imagine the audacity

If I do my chores as you.

How exhausted I would be my love,

If I shined each foot of shoe.

There would be no poker nights,

Or football with the guys.

Now you see my dear

Just how hard it is

For me to do my chores.

It saves me time and energy

To get my chores half done.

For as soon as I get halfway

Another task's begun.
