I may live far away

but it is not impossibly far away.

It may seem I am busy

but I am not impossibly busy.

It may seem that we have

totally different lives

with nothing much in common

but people are always more the same than not.

Now I don’t expect you

to take the time

to drive all that way

to visit me at all

I would never suppose

that you would stop

to ever see about me

in person or anything.

Nor do I imagine

or dare to dream

that you would get on a plane

to swing by for just a day or two.

I know

that I will do all the driving

every time

do all the accommodating

and taking time off

just the same

as always.

It would however

be rather nice

to have you change your plans

maybe alter just a thing or two

to make an effort

every once in a while

to at least

meet me

I admire the ability of poets to write tastefully about distasteful topics. Good poetry!

Hi, I like it, and it gets to the point.

You describe relationship problems very effectively in your poetry, truthfornow. This is another interesting and enjoyable poem.

Some people always seem to be the givers and others the takers. I know who will be the happier, though. Good poem.

I have these thoughts sometimes. I guess if we can't tell them, we at least can feel better after putting it on paper.. Thought provoking...

Sounds like a one way relationship Truthfornow. There are a lot like that. Good poem.

      "Meet me halfway

      Across the sky

      Out where the world belongs

      To only you and I..."

Ok, I borrowed that from Kenny Loggins' song: "Meet Me Halfway" - it's a good song just like this creative piece of yours. :)

Sounds like a long-distance relationship with some serious problems. I hope this is just a poem and not your life. :)
