Halloween Poetic Hijinks

Updated on October 25, 2012

The full moon rises high in the sky

On wings of leather, the vampire fly

Its Halloween and across the land

Walks ghouls with powers on command.

Shuffling through the streets deserted

Zombies have been recently converted

Born in a lab from a disease so foul

Created by a doctor with a scowl.

Designed to control the people boom

Instead becomes the harbinger of doom.

Mindless brainless creatures bold

Neither short nor fat nor young nor old.

Hereditary curse becomes true

in the face of danger new

Painful transformation in the night

Rears up a beast full of might.

Teeth bared and claws so sharp

A werewolf tearing through the tarp

From a skinny man scared and small

A snarling beast over 7 feet tall.

Into the zombies he shreds and rips

Arms and legs and zombie lips

Scatter across the deserted street

Now nothing left but cooling meat.

Howling his victory and defiance loud

Against the man made ghastly crowd

Supernatural against man made

The zombie horde begins to fade.

Watching the carnage from on high

The vampire heaves a sigh

Not this year, perhaps the next

Havoc on Halloween, he can wreck.

Thanks! Mine too. Fall in general is my favorite time of the year.
