God loves us. He loves us more than we can ever love ourselves. His Love is inclusive, one and eternal. God needs us! The Life-Tree has many branches, blossoms and fruits, all necessary to serve mankind. God utilises us as instruments to inspire, awaken …elevate aspiring children, seeking or searching for His Light.

Fathers are essentially instruments of God, the ultimate Reality…Absolute Supreme. They are commissioned to nurture us, feed, clothe, shelter and give us Love; to make sacrifices as well as guiding us along the right Path. As such, a good father shares the joyful burdens or struggles – if you like – in bringing up the children, hopefully with much promise and sincere wishes for a prosperous tomorrow for the young and delicate ones.

“Father, oh Father, what do you do here in my Heart?

I dream my cosmic dream.”- Sri Chinmoy

So today I wish to focus on Love. The Heart of a Lover is as vast as the infinite sky. There are no limits, for he/she is in love with life: Nature, God, Creation …

The flower opens and offers its fragrance to mankind. In the same way, the Light protruding from a Lover’s eyes, and the inner rays burning sweetly inside the Heart are tireless in service.

“God the Love is inside everything that we see. If we love God, and we do love Him because He is all Love, then whatever He has created, we also love. He is bound to be in His creation just because He is everywhere, just because He is omnipresent. “-Sri Chinmoy

Today on Father’s Day, it is so nice to remember that Love. We may not have got it from our fathers, but then we had grand-parents or foster parents, or dear friends of our parents who took the task on board of looking after us. Now we soulfully and selflessly, or devotedly offer that same Love or more to our near and dear ones…our relatives, friends, humans in need …animals in need…

God is inside us. He is the wafts of the rose, and the effulgence of the Soul; He is the radiant disc spinning within, guiding our emotions and directing the will to serve, to inspire, to be aware of our needs and environment. Likewise, the human father tries in his own inimitable way, to imitate the deeds of those who came before him, in the spirit of fortitude, wisdom, care and concern.

Our Lord is the Supreme Artist, but nevertheless He encourages, wills….manifests that practical need in the daddy to fulfil the needs of his son/daughter, to his ability and resourcefulness.

So as we come together today, let us raise a toast to that one half of a fullness (The other being the mom) who both got together to mould the child into the river of life, with great care, dignity and diligence, so that he/she blends carefully and smoothly, into the sojourn of earthly life.

I wrote (and posted on HP) a birthday poem for my dad. It has had a lot of traffic, most of which is outside of HP. I'd give you the link, but that's a no-no. It's called, "A Father's Love - Poem For My Dad". Check it out if you have the time. I put it in his birthday card in 2013 then sent him the link to the online post. He was thrilled and bragged about it to his family and friends.

I'm talking about my dad (step father who adopted my brother and I when he married our mom). My natural father is a retired USAF fighter pilot.

Very very nice. Now did you say he was a pilot or Army man? And how are you, my Sweet Shauna? Thank you so much!

Not sure, but I may have another poem for you since you last came. Much Love.

My dad and I have told each other "I love you higher than a star" for as long as I can remember. To this day, that's how we end every conversation we have together.

This is so beautiful and wonderful a tribute to all Dads! The videos are also wonderful. I remember my father who has been a great person for me and my siblings. He was very nice and was an artist and writer / editor of a magazine.

Great! Ann. Yes, not all are good, we know, and some are also victims of circumstances. Actually you have spoken of your parents before. Nice memories as I recall. Thank you so much!!

My father is remembered for his love and for his great sense of humour. We laughed together, walked together, took photos together and he gave me my interest in writing and seeing all the nature and world around me. I wish I could talk to him again.

This is beautiful and a wonderful tribute to fathers. Some are good and some are not but I'm grateful that I had the best. Thank you for helping me remember him.

      Father said, and i did,

      When, i was a kid.

Now though, he sees me skid,

Yet he know, not to be aside.

      to make me understand,

      failures are to succeed.

      Happy fathers day manatita.
