Happy Face

Updated on September 4, 2011

Happy face I plaster on

Smiling through to make it gone

No words spoken set me free

Away from all this agony

Physically no scar or bruise

Mentally I’m broken and used

Shackled down by chains of sorrow

Laced with the bitter taste of anger

Screaming til my lungs give out

With words not even yelled

Burning fire deep within

Will this ever falter?

Laughing covers only scars

Wounds go down much deeper

Cutting down into the bone

My soul gets ever weaker

Anger left in nothingness

Protective grasp it guides me

To a place much safer now

A world of self seclusion

Move. Where you are is the problem, not what you are. Move and see what is.
