Hard On

Updated on December 22, 2013

The promises that are secrets
Those things that cannot be repeated

My secret crimes are linked to me
My secret lives until the secret dies

All that is not secret releases and
All that I know that I once needed
That I keep locked up deep inside me

My only defense is emotional death
For the crimes I've committed this life

The people who wronged me
Have read back my sentence wrongly

I wronged those who wronged me
Finalize the karma from what is inside

Lovers and friends and lovers again
Drained from within by my only sin

Oh my blackened soul weeps Sometimes

I love everyone at least the ones who love me
They tell me the truth they tell me the lies

I promise that I love and then
I promise to forgive these are the promises

I keep my secret crimes
I watch them and I weaken
Until there is nothing else I believe in...

You are a very intense guy! Another moody, lovely poem!

And...I think you are very human and lovable.

Believe me, everyone has secret crimes! Nobody and I mean nobody is perfect!

LOL..and when people do you wrong..its good that you are so forgiving, however...some people do not deserve to be forgiven. You should learn and use my frying pan hex on the nasty ones!

      In the face of fear

      In the face of love

      In the face of tears

      And under heaven above

I promise that we can be free

I promise there don't have to be

secrets left between you and me

Nothing to hide, because you have the key

Between the rhythm, in the midst of the rhyme

I tell you that you are guilty of no crime

Open your heart, don't you think it's time

To let go the guilt but not your soul's shine. (fin)

As always, your work is an inspiration - Such beautiful poetry.
