He Isn't Worth Your Heart

Updated on July 5, 2011

I see you hurt although I’m not there

Watching your posts as you swear

I close my eyes and ask God to place his hands

And help heal your swelling love glands

I tell you because I love you: no MAN

Should ever let shit hit the fan

He put his hands on you and made you feel

The wrath in his eyes like he wanted to kill

Listen to me when I tell you, I know

He’s gonna tell you he loves you and try to show

That he will change and be a better cat

But baby girl let me tell you tilt your hat

And walk away while you got the chance

Please keep stepping without taking a second glance

The way he made you feel is not the way

To make you feel so sad and grey

You ask me is it normal to be afraid?

Trying to heal your wounds with a band aide

Scars are laid upon your aching heart

As he served a beating a la carte

I tell you as my friend like a sister to me

That you open your eyes and see what I see

I ask you stand tall and shout it out

Take that pass and walk it out without a doubt.

Shy, I agree and I hate with a passion people who feel the need to abuse so they feel superior.

      thanks for stopping by.

Good poem bella, a true voice against domestic violence. There seems to be too much of it in many countries, but it should never be here in America, that's for sure. I'm proud of the women who find the smarts and the courage to walk away...no matter how much it might hurt at the time. If a man is cruel...he's not worth the time. Voted up and useful! : )

Vgroom, I am sorry you had to go through an abusive relationship along with the rest of us. I went through the same thing with my father but I know and understand that my moma only did it to protect me. He will understand when he gets older I promise ;)

Sub, Thank you Sir! I changed it again though sorry :/

wow i completely understand that. my son's father was abusive. i moved on. my son is 4 and doesn't know his father. yes he sees pictures but he doesn't KNOW him for the better. moving on is always the best thing as hard as it may seem at the time.

Yes many are not willing to try but it is an accomplishment on both ends when they realize there is more out there.

Schoolgirl, thank you for the wonderful comment. I totally agree with you and I was there myself. I dealt with abuse and allowed myself to be victimized but found a better life without it. I tell my friend the same thing and she is seeing it that she is far more better than that. I am happy I was able to make her see that living this way is not right. thank you

These things are hard to overcome for women who grew up with abusive dads and the cycle carries on, but what's great about our country of America..is we are not forced to stay with men like this, we are not forced arranged marriages, we have the FREEDOM to say NO and move on courageously..to break that cycle..to take a stand, and what better way than to start out with an inspirational poem to help others start their healing and encourage others to KEEP UP the fight! God bless!
