He Rode His Bike To McDonalds

Updated on August 25, 2013

Kevin rode his bike to McDonald's almost EVERYDAY.

Pedaling fast and dodging traffic along the WAY.

Laid off six years ago, he lost it all when the economy took a DIVE.

Working a 10 hour shift, he toils there to SURVIVE.

A college graduate, flipping burgers compounds his STRESS.

Not making a whole lot from his paycheck, onward he tries to PRESS.

He struggles, naturally with just barely getting BY.

Recently, he's thought over and over about giving a dangerous idea a TRY.

For the last six months he's cased a bank he thinks he can successfully ROB.

He dreams of the cash, the getaway, and how he will quit his JOB.

Some months have passed and he's ready to put this scheme to USE.

Kevin has grown tired of the lousy pay, rude customers, and the manager's ABUSE.

On Wednesday, the 3rd of September, he enters through the bank's DOOR.

Attired in black, pulling out a 12 gauge shotgun and orders everyone, to lie face down the FLOOR!

The moment had arrived, the pure breaking loose of HELL.

Would this be a clean getaway or an ultimate FAIL?

Rapidly, the tellers fill the bags with LOOT.

Now a smooth exit, is the next step to EXECUTE.

Like clockwork, his getaway driver, Vincent is THERE.

They speed off to count the money and divide the SHARE.

Heading to the hideout, they didn't get too FAR.

Several police cruisers and a helicopter are now following their CAR.

Panicking, Vincent steps on the GAS.

At about 95mph, he flies onto the OVERPASS!

Racing past cars left and RIGHT.

Escalating from bad to worse, NO escape in SIGHT!

Ignoring repeated warnings to surrender, the situation is DIRE.

The cops have grown more aggressive, deploying stop sticks and puncturing every TIRE!

At such a high rate of speed, Vincent has lost control of the vehicle and is struggling to gain it BACK.

The car flips several times, landing on its roof, and KILLING Kevin and Vincent INSTANTLY on IMPACT!

Interesting style....almost poetic prose in genre. The other thing that jumps out at me is this could easily be a true story told over and over again across this country almost daily. Well done!

Thank you so much for the compliments. When you speak I listen. I'm sure most of us have gotten to a point of sheer desperation, but usually we don't go to this extreme.

      Man of Strength,

You are my hero :D ... I love these poetic stories of yours! I want to know about the house you grew up in... how in the hell did you get like this? This is not normal... I'm not used to guys having talent, lol, or being deep or not fearing experimenting.... Either way, the story's awesome and so are you :D

Up and all kinds of things and sharing too!

A' take away' carried to the extreme! I love this - perhaps I identify with it, having grown up in the South Africa. I love your style of writing - makes me want to read more!

Thanks for the kind words. I grew up in a regular household. I just think I'm an entertainer, to a certain extent. I'm glad that you've enjoyed my work. Thanks.
