He is: A Poem

Updated on September 27, 2011

He is a hug from a faithful friend,

He is the warm sunshine, and the wind blowing your hair,

He is a smile from a stranger,

He is a song that's understands your feelings,

He is a memory that's not tarnished,

He is art that speaks to your soul,

He is a creation that looks back at you from the mirror,

He is a peaceful presence that can't be explained,

He is wisdom amidst the confusion,

He is warmth and love that shines through a cold and broken world,

He is a savior in every time of need and weakness,

He is truth, He is light, He is love.

You know, the word 'inasmuch' sums up this poem, I think.

(Matthew 25.40: 'Inasmuch as ye have done [it] unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done [it] unto me.')

      Blessings.

I don't quite see the connection with that verse. Can you explain it further?

Your poem mentions all sorts of simple acts of love. As Christians can do to others. Hence the application, I guess, as it seemed to me.

Maybe it's not so clear beyond my mind as the reader, though.

      Blessings.

I think I understand. This poem describes attributes of God. We are meant to become more like Him and share His love with others. We are meant to become the manifestation of Christ for people. Yes, it makes sense now.
