He Doesn’t Call Anymore (poem)

Updated on February 10, 2013

He doesn’t call on her anymore

So much has changed to world before

When Joy and hope were dreams she bore

And endless was the love they swore

-

His was the voice which filled her night

To all that seems his was the light

Such fantasies would they ignite

Till passions roused her soul to flight

-

For who could love her any more

Or bring her desires to the light

And all that’s real he would ignite

Until tomorrow this he swore

-

But then her eyes caught gent’s one night

She never felt this rush before

To know this man was goal she bore

That he felt same set stars in flight

-

As their devotion these two swore

Released from secret her heart bore

As to the dream who was before

He doesn’t call on her anymore

This is something I think we can all relate to, Martin. Sad, but beautifully written.

Heartache well expressed, Mhatter. Love is fickle at times. How well I remember these feelings you've captured in word and phrase. Nicely done.
