He Waits (poem)

Updated on September 19, 2012

He waits for her that face so long ago

When days were soft and song birds filled the air

Their special spot he knew she would be there

To share a smile and every sweet hello

-

They shared the sun kiss morning with its rays

They held the glories of a new day’s scent

So precious were those moments that they spent

So much is shared therein a lover’s gaze

-

Then came that day when nothing was the same

He’d hoped for her she didn’t come around

Instead a flower laying on the ground

Reminding him he never asked her name

-

So many flowers now have met their fates

But with that flower at their spot he waits

Such longsuffering here. Waiting is so painful, isn't it dear one. Voted Way Up to the Heavens, except funny. In His Love, Faith Reaper

Mhatter, it's your fan! I love it. Very creative and unique. I really hate waiting, I've been working on that all my life. Instant gratification is so much better. Voted Up!

In life, somethings worth waiting for, while others don't! In this poem, I guess the waiting is worthwhile! Beautiful Poem -- Thanks for sharing as always!

In a world of hopelessness, one can still make an attempt. It hurts no one and may lead to something else to discover.

      Great Job!

Oh dear, he was too late then to realize how he could have took advantage of those times in a good way. Playing the music as I read your poem took me there right where he is sitting, waiting, hoping...

It is a beautiful poem, Mhatter!
