He Waits His Moonbeam (poem)

Updated on February 2, 2015

He waits his moonbeam in the quiet sky

There sitting in the fields of memory

One wonders at the marvel his eyes see

Beside the edge of all this by and by

So gently gazing off to distant tides

A carefree hush does kiss this tranquil scene

There at the streams of dreams as yet unseen

He waits his moment time has brushed to sides

What is the season blooming in his heart

Which sets him drifting very far away

He waits for something mid his passing day

He waits for something once again to start

Then in the darkness of his endless night

He spread his wings of passion and desire

And sets the moonbeam of his dreams on fire

And dawn will find there’s nothing left in sight

Mhatter99....So many sit and wait dwelling on their thoughts and dreams as time moves on...and then in a flash all is gone....the sounds of nature are our life going forward...seize the moments of time...loved the poem....

The night is a wonderful time, so serene and calming. I enjoy having the door open while doing computer work, listening to crickets and others sounds of the darkness.

Martin, I think the season for which he waits, is the season of love before she went away. This is truly beautiful and so very deep. Thanks for sharing.

      Dark and mysterious write.

"And dawn will find there's nothing left in sight."

The great exit, to be sure!

You always leave us with thoughts that are not our own.

      Great job as always, Martin.

This is one of your best poems, my friend and well done. Thank you for sharing this nice mood-filled work and the creation of the magic that the moon seems to give to us each. whonu
