Hear Me Now ~ A Collection of Poems

Updated on May 30, 2013

I'm lucky enough to have some really great friends that also happen to be incredibly talented. However, some either do not have the time or the desire to publish their work online. Lucky for me, though, and for you, I've been given permission to publish some.

So, without further fuss, it's my pleasure to introduce to you Sara Curtis, Mariana Hernandez, and Rhema Pierce. To get started, I'll share one of the snappiest two-liners I've ever heard, but she's sure right on target!

She's over it.
She's over it. | Source

Screw You

I already told you

I get over it

~Mariana Hernandez

Hear Me

Hear me now

Pick at my brain

Find memories of my life

Final pieces of my pain

Hear me now

No questions asked

I'm standing strong

With my memories in the past

My pain forgotten at last

~Sara Curtis

Listen!

Do you hear the voice?

The voice of reason,

of truth.

Heart what it is saying.

It is always true.

Listen!

The voice will not lie,

But you need to listen.

So listen,

Find the truth

It will tell you what

you need and want to know.

~Rhema Pierce

Confusion rules my mind;

Indecision and fear escalate,

Where do I go for answers?

Can I not find rest?

Past decisions haunt me,

While future decisions scare me!

Comfort me,

Assure me,

Tell me that I will do fine!

I'm tired of feeling helpless, but

Fear has grabbed hold of me.

Too much is riding on my choice;

I'm scared of making the wrong ones

~Rhema Pierce

Trying to figure myself out

Trying to accept what I find

Is it harder to know things and to see them

Or to walk through your whole life blind?

~Sara Curtis

Source

No One Listened

Never alone, surrounded

by friends with their own

thoughts and things to do

I'm a forest of memories

stories selected carefully

chosen for just a few

Old and new

all important to one,

and just one

Sharing stories and thoughts

smiles and laughter

but no one wanted to listen

Leaving heavy and even more alone

~Sara Curtis

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Feeling Dizzy

Feeling dizzy

Falling fast

Holding back

Speaking last

Standing up

Sitting down

Running 'round

Just a clown

How I feel

What to do

Scared to say

All so new

Too intense

Backing off

Needing more

Shut the door

Not enough

Scared as hell

Who to tell

Working hard

Trying to fill

A mold they cast

Will I last

Can't see myself

I'm feeling dizzy

Falling fast

~Sara Curtis

These poems in the collection of your friends' hearts are quite good. They are, I feel sure you may agree, good lyrics for songs, as well!

I like them all almost equally. There's a special, unique 'something' in each one to which to relate.

Thank you for sharing! What a stroke of special kindness and a treat to share these friends' works with us!

Thank you, Nellieanna. The friends whose work I've shared here on HubPages have always been very supportive of me. Sara is sharing memories of a loved one with Alzheimer's to help me make a better story for publication and Mariana has read some of it and has agreed to read more to help me improve. Plus, these are just great poems!

Great collection of poems and you are great to share them for your friends. I really liked the rhythm in the last poem by Sara. It actually got me dizzy which is the perfect compliment.

these are excellent works of art! They should be so proud that you felt them worthy of publishing on their behalf!

You are a great friend, but - WHY aren't these girls writing - and publishing?

talent is a shame when wasted!

      have a wonderful weekend!

      Leslie,

For at least one of them, I'm sure time is a big part of the issue. You're so right, though!

      Leslie,

I could've sworn that I already approved this and answered it, but here it sits in the "unmoderated" section fo the comment thingy. For one of the girls, at least, it is likely a time issue. But, yes, such talent!
