The Heart Transplant - I gave my heart away.

Updated on October 14, 2012

Write it down, NOW!

Well I woke up this morning, trying to sleep in a bit and wake up slowly. I had these words in my head, I was still half asleep, enjoying my pillows and comforter. Then a voice said "Get up, write it down, NOW!" So I jumped out of bed and started writing this, I didn't even get to have my coffee yet. So here it is.

Watch to see just what the heart is capable of!

Heart Pain? Give it Away

When I was young I gave my heart away,

It came back to me bruised and battered.

Some time later I felt lonely, so I gave my heart away again,

It came back to me with deep cuts and scratches.

I stitched it up and put it on ice to heal the wounds and comfort the pain.

I liked the cold, it seemed to provide security,

so I kept my heart on ice for a few years.

I soon discovered the ice was killing my heart,

it had frozen and calloused the outer layer.

It had turned black from frost bite.

The life blood it needed to survive had slowed down.

It was dying, it was numb.

So out of desperation to live,

I gave my heart one last time.

This time I gave it to God,

Now my heart is brand new...

Even better...

Thank you God for saving my life and allowing me to love and be loved more than I ever could have imagined.

Thank you cashmere. I know this is not one of those hubs that rate high. But when God tells you to do something, you just have to do it.
