Split In Two

I am an artist, designer, photographer and writer. See more of my work on cmariearts.

You split in two

Not knowing from where

You struck

I always hated when this happened

You always seemed like two people

One day good

The next day bad

Where is the person I love

He disappeared

This monster came

To replace him

One who does not really

Love me

He hides the truth

Driving me insane

Hot and cold

Boiling down to nothingness

You always leave me alone

To fend for myself

Jekyll and Hyde

Where did you go

Truth singes deep

I always wanted to know

The person that I love

Has dissolved into fire

All that is left is ashes

A mess

You broke my heart

Another time

Striking me down

Love lost

Once again

Other people's poetry always could relate towards others. That's the beauty in it. If many other things can be mended, broken hearts will too. Good luck and don't rush.

      With love...Tess ~coffeegginmyrice~

@ Thank you Jim. I guess that happens to a lot of people. :)

@ ImKarn23 thank you for all your support. Actually this is based on a relationship from a long time ago. He didn't drink a lot. His personality was always hot and cold and very chaotic. Thanks for the tweet and vote!

Jekyl and Hyde, I knew a girl like that way back when: She treated me good, and then terribly, yet I stayed with her for an unbelievably long time. Go figure. Good job, Caroline.

@ Darkz that is tragic that your father changed like that. It's tough for kids to grow up in that kind of home. Thank you for all your kind words and your wonderful fan mail. I look forward to reading more from you too. Your writing has a lot of depth.

@ Gypsy thank you for commenting and stopping by! Yes it does make messy relationships.

Voted up and beautiful! Made be sort of shiver in my mind I pictured a handsome, suave gentleman who in reality had a split personality. I've met some people in my life who were running hot and cold and it makes for very messy relationships.

very moving, I felt like the pain fill me up. To see one you love before your eyes change day by day. no longer the one you loved emotions stir and your torn from wanting to bring back the lost love or forgetting all about him and abandoning this new person in front of you. you reach to keep the old the thing keep changing till someone or both sides get hurt. I grew up watching this between my mulitple parents and watching even my father change so much that even use kids suffered for it when the spouse was gone. Thank you for shareing this its beautiful as well as sad. It's real!

This reminds me of a person with a mental problem, up one day, down the next. I had a woman friend that was like that. She was diagnosed with bipolar disease. I hope he seeks help..Beautifully scribed...

We always have hidden aspects of ourselves, it seems like a room in a house which the door is being shut for the owner doesn't want to stay there, so it remains hidden and the cob webs set in...nice poem Caroline...

Sadly we often see a different side to those we are close to. Sometimes it's a passing thing...and sometimes it's not. Well put.

Those are truly only the attempts at love . The trials that everyone goes through until they have learned to take all the hurt and the disappointing, and let downs and broken hearts . They are the trial and errors that teaches one exactly what is love.

How many loves do we have , I am sure it's only one and you will find it ,. It never ends , never dies , never disappointing.

If I have to bet one someone that will find it . Yes it's you Caroline.

Stay well and give God the Glory.

      It's yours : One Love!
