Heaven’s Shore (poem)

Updated on February 2, 2015

My lover took my dreams to heaven’s shore

To bask in Joy and teach my heart to sing

And there with her I’ll be forevermore

-

Each dawn which kissed the morn would grant me more

For one more day this truth my soul would ring

My lover took my dreams to heaven’s shore

-

We chanced a dance as life we did explore

We welcomed all the wonders world could bring

And there with her I’ll be forevermore

-

And as the evening came to close day’s lore

The stardust would ignite a tender fling

My lover took my dreams to heaven’s shore

-

A nightmare came to find her on the floor

There to this hopeful promise I did cling

And there with her I’ll be forevermore

-

Now fate had come to close this story’s door

One memory returns to ease the sting

My lover took my dreams to heaven’s shore

And there with her I’ll be forevermore
