Hell on Earth???

Updated on March 11, 2010

Hell on Earth?

Just imagine yourself under the blazing eyes of the sun, dipping your foot into the cold water of the river below, and feeling the water’s coolness seep into your core while bringing on an extravagant refreshing sensation. A feeling of absolute happiness reflects in your body! Refreshing isn’t it? …

The Feeling of the wind on your bare skin, the sun’s blazing tongues burning through your flesh..STOP! Now imagine taking your foot out of the water and finding a nylon bag strapped around your foot or even some baby’s BROWN “poop-filled” diaper clinging to your foot like how a baby Kangaroo would hold to its mother’s touch! Ironic isn’t it??

No it is heartbreaking. These Filthy stains of mankind serve as a symbol of the dismal future that awaits us at the corner if we are careless or stupid with our remaining natural resources.

As for a start, it is ironic how such a beautiful place would be turned into a tear-jerking spot. And sometimes people can’t help but wonder about the fate of our natural wonders and the consequences of our actions.

While walking through the villages’ homes which were once known for their beauty and cleanliness you can’t help but plug your nose and hope you had taken a different route. Garbage bags of all colors and sizes decorate the view with little sprinkles of shameless flies that keep of buzzing welcoming all new arrivals to the village. “Bloody hell!” even plugging your nose wouldn’t do any good! The scent is so strong that it makes your stomach rumble in distress. Now moving to the pathetic river, which seems silent and detached, you can’t help hold your breath. All life forms were either destroyed by the hungers or poisoned by the toxins found in the river water due to the toxins being dumped into the river from the near by Dairy Factory. The only present living species are the Scavengers and the roaches who enjoy Sunbathing in the pile of dirt and shit.

What people believe is that the consequences of their reckless if not idiotic actions stop here yet these causes have various dramatic ripples on our lives such as the collapsing of ecosystems as well as pollution and extinction of life forms. It also causes a chain reaction which directly reflects on the humans as well as water and other resources. The seeping of the toxic wastes into our inner-ground water resources which reflects on your lives causing poisoning, death, spreading of infectious diseases. As a matter of fact, improper disposal of garbage wastes also reduces the immune’s system’s ability to fight diseases which increases the rate of deaths.

As a sum up some little artist/pop singer in one of his ridiculous songs said: “What goes around comes back around” and this can be our Moto in life when the dismal and drastic consequences of our actions come haunting us ready to reap our heads. So are we going to remain sitting on our butts like sitting ducks without taking any measure to help quarantine this issue if not solve it??!!!!! Simply it is your choice so take a pick!

sligobay thanks for your comments. I believe if everyone of us starts from his own home trying his best not to inflict evil on nature things would take a different route. nature is our home, as well as our children so why destroy it when out mere existence is connected to it?

It's refreshing to read the articles of a human being with an active social conscience.
