Her

Updated on May 23, 2013

Her beauty shines through even on dark and cloudy days,

More glorious than a field of roses basking in the sun's rays,

Breathtaking like an ice cold plunge,

My eyes soak it in like a dry sponge,

Her smile so beautiful and bright,

Lights up the world on the bleakest night,

Her eyes so deep and beautiful they stir my soul,

Once glance from her and my heart beats out of control,

Her laughter's like music from a thousand symphonies,

It warms my heart and erases bad memories,

Her touch is almost more than I can bare,

It makes the world goes away like it was never there,

A kiss from her sweet lips would send my mind reeling,

And tie my stomach in knots but I would relish the feeling,

But alas it was never meant to be,

She just doesn't feel the same as me,

I need to move on and I guess it takes time,

So I will sit here and self medicate with words that rhyme,

It doesn't really replace that feeling of emptiness in my heart,

But I guess it's as good a place as any to start.

This is lovely and I'm so pleased you're letting the 'inner writer' out to breathe! You express your emotions and honest feelings - something that seems difficult for most men so you're already ahead in the field. Hope you keep with it. Sadness is a little easier when we pull it out, examine it closely, how does it hurt, where? what does it make you think? and then write it all down as fast as you can - that will have come straight from the gut. You can sand down the rough edges later....Love it. stay with it! Hugs Dotti

What poignant piece with a touch of sadness from the writer's heart felt by your readers from beginning until the end. Some things are just not meant to be. *smile*

Beautiful work, straight from the heart. Voting up and sharing!
