Her World (poem)

Updated on March 6, 2017

I see the tides which you once talked about

Delivering the moonlight to my feet

And freeing stars as it makes its retreat

It only took a tear to point it out

I hear the birds tell flowers they are sweet

In songs you said would wash away all doubt

I see why lonely people sit and pout

They need the kiss of dreams to be complete

It’s there to see the gift you offered me

It only took a storm to clear the air

Of all the clouds which once stood in my way

Is this the way that dreams were meant to be

Drifting in a cloud without a care

My world is so much different today
