Here Comes Trouble

Updated on March 6, 2014

Just In Time

I see it in the expression on your face

You are in a bad mood

Something set you off

As I try to console you

You won't hear nothing of the kind

Getting mad is your favorite habit

You like to complain

As your cursing continues bringing more pain

I watch friends turn away

They also have watched you many times before act this way

Carrying on your own personal temper tantrum

No matter how many times I try to explain

You listen but don't hear

You make your own assumptions

As you sink deeper in the world of despair

Anger shows it's ugly head

I have to keep my distance

Because the more I involved myself with your problems

I get dragged in

You really don't want help

All the times your promised to change you never did

I told you before and I will tell you again

All I want you to do is try

Listen to common sense

The voice of reason

Other people who also agree

Here me out

Not long after

Our voices raise and a shouting match takes place

You try to twist the truth

Blaming it on all kinds of reasons

I hear you out

It's not me against you

I am not the enemy

Softly I remind you I am only trying to help

So I back off

You give up to easily and slip into your bad habits

Can't you see what you are doing to me ?

As you point out other people with their short fuses and their bad ways

Why would you want to do what they do ?

I remind you to be yourself and work hard on making your life better

Don't get pulled in one direction and then another

You believe it is alright to carry on this way

Finding fault and an endless list of troubles to consume you

That eat at you little by little

Clawing away like a squirrel attacking a bird feeder

Doing all he can

To get what he wants at any cost

Giving you time

To let you cool down

I can only help you so far

Then you have to take action

Only you can change if you desire

I wish this time I was wrong

We can only hope you keep up the fight

Then I can find better stories to write

Gypsy Rose Lee I am glad I can see how destructive it can be and I am careful not to fall into the same pattern. I know we all have different ways of coping with stress. Some ways are just better than others. Thank you for reading and giving me new insight with your comments.

Sounds like a friend from long ago. He would shout but none of it made much sense he was just venting his anger and sometimes words were said that could never be taken back.

Nadine May Well we all have our differences and if we shine the light on them maybe we can bring out the good points and leave the rest behind. No one is perfect and we all deserve a second chance. Thank you for reading and sharing. I hope you had a wonderful day.

Wow that poem is about someone I would not like to live with! The hurt is very well expressed.

DDE I have to realize we all deal with our problems differently. What works for me doesn't work for you vice versa. I have to let you do it your way even if I think another way would be much easier and more helpful. This is your life and you get to live it the way you want. One thing I can do is just pray that you find a better way.annart I can think of many times people have told me to do something and I had to do it the hard way. Then after trial and error here I am starting again. As long as we learn in the end. I love keeping good ideas open to discussion so they can become great ideas with everyone's help. billybuc I turn my energies to other projects not to be overwhelmed by any one situation or condition. Then I can see in time how they will play themselves out. Then I can check back and see if my solution matches. I feel I have tried and given little suggestions for possible choices to pick from.Jodah I will always care when I see other people hurt when they don't have to be. Sometimes a course is set and we have to watch to see where it leads. Never giving up hope and knowing the right solution is one answer away.Thank you everyone for reading and sharing so many great ideas.

Dream On, this is the opposite of your usual upbeat and positive attitude portrayed in your hubs. Life and relationships does have it's ups and downs so if you write about your everyday existence this is all part of it. Well done, you did get your feelings across.

I think this is a great poem. I have known a few people like this in my time and I've learnt to get them out of my life. There is only so far you can go to help; some can't change, won't change, won't get professional help because they don't see it as a problem. 'It's just me', they say, as if we should all have to put up with it.

Well expressed and a great subject. Ann

Interesting moods are not always the same and the bad and good days are coped with some kind of disagreement.
