Here Today Gone Tomorrow

Updated on August 23, 2014

There Is So Much To See And Do

Our lives are a constant revolving door

They never stop

People in and out of our lives

We are always changing always growing

It may slow down for a time

Then again it may go so fast you can't keep up

As the seasons change we clearly notice nature turning

All to often we can't see our own lives

Sometimes off balance and lacking in something

We are unable to put our finger on it

So as the days lead into years

Many of tears have flowed digging up unrest

Lucky for us passion and drive for love is always greater

As we live our sparate lives

Where we have all the time and energy to do anything

Shocked when one day

We have trouble just trying to move

The next day we have even more trouble trying to think

The biggest lesson of our life is learned

We aren't invincible and our working parts slow down

We finally realized

Better late than never

As we come to terms with our maker

Only to see we had it all

Our bodies were more like a rented tuxedo

That has to be returned

It was great while it lasted

As we plea

No, no, no

It is not long before we leave and go

Somewhere where we once knew well

But have long forgotten

It is here we view our life

Like a nut tucked in it's shell

Now it's complete

Nothing left out nothing forgotten

We can clearly see

Who we are and who we are meant to be

This was a poem for lots of reflection. I believe we think more about the end of our lives as friends pass on. However I believe in continuing full steam ahead just sweetening it with memories.

I love this Dream On. It is the journey of our lives, and a very good description of the process. (You just need to proof read for a few errors). Well done though, voted up.

Time is never enough to experience life all in one day. Work is a must for many people and thoughts do flow while busy but each day should be enjoyed to the fullest. The present is very important.

What a lovely idea! Your poetry is lovely. I love the lines 'It is not long before we leave and go somewhere where we once knew well but have long forgotten'. What comes around goes around.

      Beautiful! Ann
