Here i stand -( African women inspirational poetry)

Updated on May 24, 2014

Here I stand a woman Not just any woman An African women With tribal scars that are left to show Bearing all that I am made of Unapologetic ally
To apologize is to show that i am backing down From my own Acceptance Strength Morals And hope

I stand proud Ready to bat for my true being A true African queen In a class of her own Of grace and deep rooted culture
But the struggle Devotion has been the glory of the struggle And setbacks Set forth by others Who could not appreciate The adversity of an African queen
For they said because of the color of my skin I intimidate But blind eyes easily miss The bigger picture often times presented because

My skin is made with the purest of ingredients Followed by the richest undertones With an array of orange and yellows have been refined to Have the smoothest skin That is ageless with time And stays intact without encouragement

And without mention the confidence The confidence one possess to be a queen Aware of all that one is worth And leaving non believers opinions worthless

Respected Carrying my head high And only looking down to catch falling blessings That somehow I allowed to pass me

Faith the reason I stand The unseen that guides me Leading me unconsciously By Constructed paths Named destiny

I’m Religiously walking in his favor And grace Appreciative To the creator for my whole being And deeming me to wear The title of African queen
And in the fashion of a true queen I take life on full force Fulfilling unfilled desires Striving for what is Unattainable And never giving up

For Here I stand a woman Not just any woman An African women With tribal scars that are left to show Bearing all that I am made of Unapologetically
