Here then Gone

Updated on February 26, 2012

Here then Gone

By Tony DeLorger © 2011

How fine the threads of connection,

that bind us in our selection.

Attraction a mystery of mirth,

defies us in mind not in girth.

I sometimes feel it is fate,

that drags us through misery and makes,

us learn those lessons of life,

the harshness of love lost so rife.

When it all seems so right and secure,

life is in comfort the lure.

It is torn from our hands we’re in shock,

when the love of our life’s taking stock.

Unknown to our cause she is gone,

remaining till love gets it wrong.

Now reason has proven her case,

abandoned, her pledge made in hast.

For no matter how long and how right,

when love goes we suffer our plight.

No guarantee could ever be given,

even soul mates want happiness living.

When time deems us spent we are past,

our use-by dates cannot last,

beyond that point of no return,

even if our hearts can’t decern.

Here for now, but then gone.

The manner in which we write is complex, but I think life experience and lessons learned do help with the way we express ourselves. Whatever it is I'm grateful for it and appreciate that you appreciate it too. Thanks QudsiaP1

Lovely yet once again. There isn't a past experience that helps you to reflect in such a manner is there? :)

Anyway, you write from the heart, do keep it up.
