Here We Are (poem)

Updated on January 19, 2014

Wonder with me

Wonder hits home

Did I do enough with my life

Could I have done more

-

So many people

So many heights

Reaching out for that something

Deep within their soul

-

Numberless talents

Numberless goals

Confusing are the currents

In a sparkling stream

-

But here we are right now

Sharing a touch of something

A break perhaps for thought

A chance to step back awhile

-

What made this jewel

Master of its unique rainbow

Shining new colors

Shining places missed

-

This fragrant flower

Who fashions the breath of life

Some live in fields

Some die for kisses

-

There amid a smile

Rests the only true answer

Wonder with me

Wonder hits home

Music only

Just wonderfully put. Lots to wonder and ponder about

Amazing poem about something we all do: wondering.

Beautiful poem. We all wonder, no matter the age.

Many of us at my age (60) have wondered if we could have done more. Very well expressed and a nice poem.

One could write a whole book just on "Wonder."

Many famous authors have. I thought your opening was very powerful.

      "Wonder with me

      Wonder hits home

Did I do enough with my life

      Could I have done more?"

I love the wonder that opening stanza provokes in the reader. "Could I have done more?" A heck of a writing prompt if I have ever heard one!

Good poem, with nice music to accompany it.

Wander and marvel at the wonder of it all. Lovely, Martin!
