His Arms (poem)

Updated on July 31, 2015

She closed her eyes until her love was there

Perhaps anticipation of a kiss

Perhaps to dream of moments after this

Once in his arms one more forgotten care

For there she’s free to see just what it’s like

To be his queen the source of all his light

To be the means of all that seems so right

And stop the bitter tears before they strike

For here there was no safer place to hide

Beside the warmth which fashions each new day

Beside the dream of all which came her way

Her Joy is there it’s there she will reside

Her eyes now opened checking that he’s near

But with the light his arms soon disappear

Bummer! I hate it when I awaken only to find the wonderful world I was in was simply a dream.
