Hold Me Close

Updated on February 6, 2012

The Easiest To Do

The fast paced life racing by

People always wanting and needing more

Always something to do and we never seem to get it all done

From the day we were born we began to expect

A life so powerful that it would draw our attention constantly towards a new horizon

Age slowly slipping in

As we see it but don't realize it's mighty grasp

Time and knowledge have a way of christening our soul

That we have finally learned

The greatest treasure is not something bought or sold

It is something far better

Simplier and more refine

When we finally see it we laugh

Wondering why didn't I see it long ago

Now looking back over the years I can see what I always needed

Sometimes just infront of my eyes but I was blided by the light

When we are babies the first thing we want is to be is held in are parents arms

Then later when we are a child and learning our way

We also ask to be picked up often and carried here and there

More so when we have fallen and we tend to bleed

Then years later when we have a lover who we fancy

To be treated so special and held in their arms feeling so safe

Then when we have our first pet

Maybe a dog who yelps or just jumps up

A cat who meows and loves to be snuggled

We see it again when our children begin to follow in our footsteps

With the world so great

Why don't we spend more time telling each other

I need you the most

Come over here

Give me a hug

Hold me tight in your arms

Feel the love that I have and will always share

This is the best way to show that I care

Stop each day and find the time to for me before anything else

Reach out and don't hesistate to hug me often

I am not so delicate I will break

I am not only a lover who needs to be embraced in the heat of passion

A lifelong friend who holds the goodness in my heart

That should be pulled close as often as the clock ticks

So you will feel what gives life new meaning

As an aunt or an uncle we demand respect

We often seek the comfort of others we love

We hold out our arms reminding others to come close

Then when we turn elderly and now have lived a full life

Once again a simple hug holds all its pleasure

When all our pocessions have come and gone

Even our own body sometimes refuses to go on

A wonderful hug makes us feel young again

It restores the love that we have always known

Comforting and satisfying

Peaceful and powerful

A gift that never really was thought about but always present

That takes very little effort and within minutes anyone can master

Hold me close today and each day after
