42nd Good Word - Honor
This word "Honor" means a lot to me. This is the 42nd word in the Good Words Project, from Jo Goldsmith who has the calling to help her fellow human beings/writers/ readers to live by these good words as we learn the true meaning of each one.
I believe this is what words are meant to do.

Honor is Decency
To treat each one we meet with affability
Can you imagine the possibility
if we treat everyone with Decency?
Honor is Honesty
Honesty is truth
Righteousness and morality
All that we have been taught to be.
Honor is Integrity
Taught in subtle ways
That which we should live by instinctively
Honor is Morality
To live our lives with ethics
And share the good words
In our Commonality
Steadfast Loyal and True
I thought of the Honor and as I was writing this 2/10/15 it was announced today the Kayla Mueller had been murdered, and it was at that moment I thought how she had not only honored her family, but all Americans and all the people of Syria whose lives she touched. This is the best example of honor I could find.
Honor – The Heart of Steel Compassion
© by Shyron Shenko
In her short life Kayla Mueller
Set her heart of steel compassion
On caring and helping
Those who had less than she
With a heart of steel compassion
And integrity as her guide
She could not save the world
God know she really tried
Kayla gave her heart of steel compassion
For folks who had lost it all
It seems she was the only one
Who answered their woeful call
You can hear the rustle of angel’s wings
And the little ones know
They now have a guardian
When Kayla Mueller sings
Kayla, cared for those who had no hope
And handed them her heart
Soft as a marshmallow in the fire
But strong as steel when time were dire
She honored all Americans
With her heart of steel compassion

Kayla Mueller traveled to Syria to help children caught in the middle of the nation’s bloody civil war. Her work was cut short in August 2013, when she was kidnapped in Aleppo.
