Hope of Spring Arising - A Religious Poem

Updated on August 13, 2014

When autumn's colors fall,

Barren is the woodland.

Greenless trees stand tall,

As a black wall.

Dying there they stand,

Behold the barren band.

Winter snows combine,

To muffle in their limbs.

Standing there in line,

Praying for a sign.

Something break the wind,

Someone life-light send.

Wind may bend them,

Snows may over-weigh.

Sunlight may be dim,

But hanging by a limb,

They await the day,

When the sun makes its way.

Hope of Spring arising,

Arching through the sky.

No longer clouds disguising,

But true daylight finding.

Beautiful sun rising high,

That trees may feel the light.

'Tis the Christian story told,

Creed of God changed by man,

Faith's strong fire now run cold.

Would that God would spring unfold!

Pieces torn across the land,

Disunified by demon's hand.

Witness story killed by stone,

Crucified for being strong.

Killed by their very own,

Because they would not sin condone.

Combined against by mobbing throng,

Though they truly did no wrong.

A Dark Age, faith corrupted,

Debased as tyrant's tool.

Changed so that man accepted,

Doctrines were elected.

Truth mingled with Yule,

Pagan compromise ended God's rule.

Through the passing years,

Some have tried to find.

Pleading in their tears,

Accepting not their fears.

Hoping in their mind,

That God can still be kind.

O Savior, loving God,

Where is the spring?

Can You save us from this fraud?

Bring us to Your Iron Rod.

Where is Thy Son shining?

Stay the clouds from further hiding.

Winter snows combine,

To muffle in our limbs.

Redeemer, hear our cry,

Bring us to Your light!

Please, break the wind.

Please, life-light send.

'Tis it hope that shouts?

One is called again?

A servant come to end the drought?

Love of God no longer doubt!

This truth to proclaim -

God recovers His domain!

Hope of Spring arising,

Arching through the sky.

No longer clouds disguising,

But true daylight finding.

Beautiful Son, rising high,

That we may see the light.
