Hopes Of Tomorrow (poem)

Updated on October 27, 2013

Where can I turn to

Where can I find

My hopes of tomorrow

Now taken away

-

Gone are the mountains

Which carried the echoes

Across the fields

Which bloomed in my name

-

So sad are the fables

Of a tired old man

Who lives in a dream

Short of those moments

-

So sad those faded nights

Those cobweb covered lights

A different time

A different time

-

But here I sit pondering

Drinking in days all alone

Under the glowing sky

Clouded in memories

-

There in a wet reflections

I see the many faces

Which use to be me

So confusing so confusing

-

There at the verge of my darkness

Comes the face of a stranger

Eagerly shaking my hand

Saying thank you

Time (Life) passes by so quickly and life changes from what it once was to what it is, very profound thoughts dear Mh.

      Up and more and sharing

      God bless you, Faith Reaper

Sadly beautiful Martin, and filled with words unspoken.

Martin, this poem hit me like a ton of bricks.

You could not have chosen more appropriate music.

I have had that face of a stranger walking towards me.

My lack of memory is frightening.

      Write on, Martin, write on.

We appreciate each work that you give to us.

      DJ.

We often look back to what was and wish those times could return, but our hopes for tomorrow are more important, and just how we are living today.

      A very thoughtful poem.

Martin, I sit and ponder myself. How does one who will get up tomorrow and write another fantastic wonderful and moving poem not look forward to tomorrow. I am just not a poet I suppose. For if I could write as well as you I could not even fathom such a poem as this. I have much to learn.

Voted up and awesome. Incredible is your talent. This poem brings home all those thoughts of brighter yesterdays and hope for a better tomorrow. Passing this on. I love that song.

P.S. a friendly reminder Of a tired old mad - Of a tired old man
