Stephen King's Doctor Sleep: A Novel

Final Thoughts.....

Stephen King is the best horror writer in history. He has over 300 books and over fifty films based off of his writings. Ironically, His best selling films, in general, have been his non horror movies such as : Shawshank Redemption, Stand by Me and The Green Mile.

King never appears to slow down as he continues to publish his works. He always seems to excel in writing, directing and producing and his stories are downright scary!

He is so incredibly talented and prolific. I love his horror stories, but things like The Green Mile and Shawshank Redemption show that he is an excellent writer in multiple genres. I think the horror movies never translate as well as the books, so it doesn't surprise me...Also, some of these horror movies (like Children of the Corn) were based on short stories...so stretching them into full length movies is probably pushing it! Thanks for all the stats, I see there are several books here that I've heard of but not read, so I have some more reading to do!

      Morning Leslie.

Even as I read his name the hairs stand up on my body.

He deserves the title of best horror writer ever.

SK best films are a toss-up with The Shinning and Misery. For me Kathy Bates takes a lot of beating with Misery. I really felt sorry for James Cann when the old woman took the sledge hammer to his knee's.

Makes me shiver just thinking about it.

Great tribute to a great writer.

Take care and have a nice Christmas season.

      LOL Ghaelach
