...Hospitals and Churches...

Updated on March 21, 2014

Down the glittering white and silver hallways

gray and blue and green

antiseptic vows being made

in the chapel

windows glowing red, purple, gold

lilies and crosses

an old man kneels next to

the ghost of his wife

and there are no tears left

only divots on his cheeks

from where the rivers

used to run

and I watch

from down the hall

as they pass by

new babies

and scared fathers

afraid they will not be around

long enough

and they won't

but the Mother

She will

in Her red misted glory

of splatters across

the delivery room walls

onto the pristine granite floors

running down the elbows

of the doctor who is late

for his game of golf

Beautifully narrated. I liked it...make me numb for a few moment.
